About us

CTR Law is a Dutch customs advisory firm, founded by André Jansen.

André is a civil and tax lawyer. During his career of over forty years he worked at the Dutch Tax Authority and at various international accountancy and law firms.

He started his career in 1974 with the Dutch Tax Authority. From 1992 until 2002 André worked as a tax advisor at Loyens & Loeff and KPMG Meijburg, after which he joined DLA Piper as a partner of the international practice group Tax.

Within DLA Piper he was appointed as a member of the Executive Committee of the EMEA Regulatory Group and head of the EMEA Tax Investigations and Disputes Team. As one of the four partners, in 2007 he founded PadbergSpanjaart advocaten and joined Kneppelhout & Korthals after the merge in March 2010.

André specialises in fiscal and non-fiscal regulatory governing the import and export of goods, e.g. import and export control, customs and excise duties, anti-dumping duties and VAT.

He advises both national and international clients in the above mentioned fields. In addition he advises on due diligences, pre-audits, tax audits and compromise agreements with customs and VAT authorities and the Ministry of finance. As a result of his many years of experience André has a extensive network of national and international relations. André is of counsel at Kneppelhout & Korthals, a law firm based in Rotterdam. At Kneppelhout & Korthals he represents his clients in tax-relaxed objection and appeal proceedings before Dutch courts and the European Court of Justice.

André is Global Customs Manager at Transfer Pricing Associates, based in Amsterdam.
